It is with sadness that we announce that Rabbi Sonny Herman, born 1929 died on August 8th, 2009, 18 Av 5769. He served the Southgate and District Synagogue until 1977 then worked in the Netherlands with Holocaust survivors returning to England in 1980 to work with survivors at their centre in Hendon. He later ministered to the Thanet community, becoming Rabbi Emeritus two years ago.
