The Movement For Reform Judaism
 

a series of sessions designed to explore Jewish sources in order to help people deal with the anxiety and uncertainty they are facing in the current economic crisis. The ten weekly sessions beginning in late April will be facilitated by leading rabbis and Jewish educators.

Dan Rickman has joined Sheldon Mordsley as a second full-time Jeneration student fieldworker. Both fieldworkers are working on campuses across the UK with all Jewish students, no matter how they choose to identify themselves.

£40,000 Awarded To Reform And Liberal Religion Schools

As part of a UJIA and Leo Baeck College 2008 Cheder Challenge, over £40,000 was distributed to 53 Reform and Liberal chadarim throughout the country.

£250,000 to go to Leo Baeck College

At Bloomsbury Auctions on 29th January 2009, Leo Baeck College sold a collection of works illustrated and inscribed in books by the famous Jewish artist, Marc Chagall realising a sum of £250,000.

Literary Evening in Weybridge

Nearly 30 people, including representatives from the Arts Development Office of Elmbridge Borough Council and the Weybridge Women’s Institute, joined members and guests of North West Surrey Synagogue in Weybridge, on Monday, March 2nd, to hear author Judy Jackson speak about her career as a cookery writer and novelist.

Responding to Anti-Semitism

Rabbi Dr. Jonathan Romain responds to this question: A non-Jewish friend of mine was visiting a museum abroad and the director made some vile remarks about Jews. Her only riposte was that Jews have got where they are by hard work and because they are clever.  I was flummoxed because she thought she was being kind and helpful but we both knew that her remark came from some inner (and probably unrecognised) anti-Semitism. How can one handle social and hidden anti-Semitism?
